Elina Patrou MSc. BA Hons. RAD RTS.

Elina started dancing at her mother's ballet school when she was 4 years old. She successfully completed her Royal Academy of Dance exams and took part in the school's many theatre shows for which she also choreographed.

Pursuing her love for dance, she studied Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Jazz and Musical Theatre at London Studio Centre where she received a BA Honours in Dance. She then qualified as a Royal Academy of Dance ballet teacher and ran her childhood ballet school in Athens alongside her mother.

Being an eternal student, she returned to London where she completed an MSc in Dance Science at Trinity Laban, one of the first of its kind in the world! She learnt about injury prevention and rehabilitation, anatomy, nutrition and psychology and brings this knowledge into her teaching to ensure her students get the very best education. She also teaches Pilates at Triyoga, one of London's leading studios, and Progressing Ballet Technique, a ballet-specific exercise method, endorsed by ballet teachers all over the world.

As a believer in supporting students' diverse learning styles, Elina follows a student-centred approach in her teaching, encouraging students to be proactive and accomplished learners.

Elina is fortunate to have taught at The Van Niekerk Academy of Dance for 5 years alongside Suzanne Van Niekerk, and she is honoured to now continue running the school under her own name.
