Elina Patrou MSc. BA Hons. RAD RTS.

Elina started dancing at her mother's ballet school when she was 4 years old.

Pursuing her love for dance, she studied Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Jazz and Musical Theatre at London Studio Centre where she received a BA Honours in Dance and later also qualified as a Royal Academy of Dance ballet teacher.

Being an eternal student, she completed an MSc in Dance Science at Trinity Laban, one of the first of its kind in the world! She learnt about injury prevention and rehabilitation, anatomy, nutrition and psychology and brings this knowledge into her teaching to ensure her students get the very best education. She also teaches Pilates, Gyrokinesis, Yoga and Progressing Ballet Technique, a ballet-specific exercise method, endorsed by ballet teachers all over the world.

As a believer in supporting students' diverse learning styles, Elina follows a student-centred approach in her teaching, nurturing students' empowerment and self-efficacy.

Elina is fortunate to have taught at The Van Niekerk Academy of Dance for 5 years alongside Suzanne Van Niekerk, and she is honoured to now continue running the school under her own name.
